Get the miner

One program. You run it, you keep the key.

There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to connect. You download a program, give it a wallet, and leave it running.

Not released yet

There is nothing to download today.

The miner is built and it works — it has mined real proofs on a test chain. It has not been released, because the contracts it talks to have not been deployed.

We are not going to put a button here that does nothing, and we are not going to collect your email to tell you when it changes. When there is a release, it will appear on this page with the checksums described below.

TODO — version, download links and published checksums, once the launch set is deployed.

Before you run it

Check it is really ours.

Anyone can put a file on the internet and call it our miner. Here is how to know the one you have is the one we published.

  1. 01

    Take its fingerprint

Every release is published with a fingerprint — a long string calculated from the file itself. Your computer can work out the same string from your copy.

  2. 02

    Compare it to this page

If the two strings match, your file is byte for byte the one we published. If a single byte differs, the fingerprint changes completely.

  3. 03

If it does not match, stop

Do not run it. A file that does not match is either damaged or is not ours, and you cannot tell which from the outside.

Or build it yourself

The source is public. If you would rather not trust our build, compile your own from the code and skip this page entirely. That is the strongest option available and we would rather you took it.

Your wallet

We never see the secret that controls your money

It is unlocked on your machine

You give the miner a wallet file and a passphrase. Both stay on your computer. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is copied, and there is no account holding it for you.

Two ways to start it

Type the passphrase yourself and walk away, or point it at a passphrase file that only your user account can read. The miner checks that before it will start.

Nobody can recover it

That is the whole point, and it is also the price. Lose the file or the passphrase and the tokens are gone. There is no reset link, no support desk and no administrator, because we built a system where no such person can exist.

Nobody will ever ask you for it

Not us, not by email, not in a chat, not on a form. Anyone who does is stealing from you. There is no situation in which this project needs your passphrase or your recovery words.

What it is like to run

It is a terminal program, for now

You type a command and it prints what it is doing. It was built so a program can drive it as easily as a person, which is why it can also report everything as machine-readable output. A version that runs in a browser is being built.

You set a spending limit

The miner will not send anything that could cost more than the limit you give it. That limit is required — there is no default, because how much of your money to risk is your decision.

Set it high enough

A win that also earns a Proof Hunter costs materially more to submit than an ordinary win. A limit sized for ordinary wins will refuse the valuable ones. The miner now says so plainly when it happens.

It stops politely

Interrupt it and it finishes what it is doing, prints a summary of everything it earned and spent, and exits cleanly.
